Ham and I headed out to Westminster today to visit McDaniel College- home of the Baltimore Ravens Training Camp. It was fantastic! I couldn't believe how close we got to the action.
Ham met Dawan Landry and Haruki Nakamura after practice when most if not all the players came out to sign autographs. Best thing was it was all FREE! WE didn't even have to pay to park!
I've heard that the Ravens are one of the only teams that let fans come to training camp. Most of the NFL teams that do have open camps charge their fans admission (specifically- that other football team located in Maryland.)
So, thank you Ravens! There were school and church groups there and Ham and I have decided that we will make this a yearly event and G will get to come when he's 3.
Here are some shots from the day...
Mark Clayton running right up to Ham's feet!
Coach Harbaugh in a camo hat- love it!
Ham met the safety's today which was strange because Hubby told me last year he thought that would be a good position for Ham. Both walked up to us- we were sitting on the ground and there were adults all around us.
Dawan Landry, very nice guy.
Haruki Nakamura got down on Ham's level and said "How ya doin buddy?"
Willis McGahee impressed me the most today- he walked straight to the back of the field where there was a big group of kids and signed autographs with a smile on his face for at least 45 minutes. When he was done he plopped down in the middle of the group and had his photo taken with them. Here he is with Nathan Chester.
Check out all the kids!
Two other players working the line that we almost had autographs with were KJ Gerard - rookie cornerback with dreadlocks and Graham Gano -a rookie kicker. Not only were they super sweet with the kids the Mommies were checking them out as well! Ham and I have lots of new players to cheer for this year- Ham has already decided his new favorite number is 7 (Graham Gano) and he wants a new jersey- we'll see if they keep him first.
Ok the last two photos made everyone around us giggle when I took them. After standing in line for the port-a-potty for 15 min. to convince Ham to pee standing up behind a car (first time!) We went over to get a drink when we ran into some cheerleaders taking photos with fans. I ask Ham if he wants a photo with the girls and he says yes...I put him between the girls and turn around to this pose...
What is that face? He is so nervous he is actually wringing his hands. So we meet two more cheerleaders and I tell him this time put his hands down and smile and he gives me this...
Not sure if the buck tooth look is going to win over the women when he's older! By the way, when he looked at this photo on the computer tonight he said..."hey look at my crocks!" The boy is oblivious!

awww such a ladies man
